Welcome to Downtown!

Celebrate National Park(ing) Day with Pop Up Downtown!

The City of Renton and a growing number of partners have made National Park(ing) Day celebrations a new tradition in Downtown.

In September, cities around the globe celebrate Park(ing) Day by transforming parking spots into temporary public places for the day. These temporary parks (or “parklets”) help change how people view and use public space. They serve to stimulate activity in the Downtown, generate discussion around how public space is utilized and create an atmosphere that encourages community members of all ages to gather and take pride in the vibrancy of their neighborhood.

The third annual Pop-Up downtown event will take place Friday, September 21, 2018. Come celebrate Renton’s unique local businesses and pop-up surprises throughout the Downtown.

Create your own Pop-Up parklet!

Checkout the guidelines for your PARK(ing) Day Parklet and get your application in by August 3, 2018.
