Join a Committee!

By volunteering for committees and advisory groups you have an opportunity to help shape the future of the organization, while establishing yourself as a leader in the community.  We have lots of opportunities for you to get involved.  Read below to see which committees are best for you.

Design Committee

The Design Committee involves improving the downtown’s image by improving its physical appearance — not just the appearance of buildings, but also street lights, window displays, parking areas, signs, sidewalks, streetscapes, landscaping, promotional materials and all other elements that convey a visual message about what downtown is and what it has to offer.

Economic Vitality Committee

Economic Vitality Committee identifies new market opportunities for the traditional commercial district, find new uses for historic commercial buildings and stimulates investment in property. The Economic Vitality Committee must develop a thorough understanding of the district’s economic condition and its best opportunities, focusing on incremental changes that gradually improve the area’s economic foundation to eventually make large-scale investment possible.

Promotion Committee

The Promotion Committee markets downtown’s unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new businesses, tourists and others. Effective promotion and marketing create a positive image of the downtown through retail promotional activity and special events utilizing the downtown as a central hub of community activities.

Organization Committee

The Organization Committee takes the initiative to involve business owners and the local community toward the same goal of assembling the appropriate human and financial resources to implement a Main Street revitalization program. A governing board and standing committees make up the fundamental organizational structure of the volunteer-driven program.
