All of our programs and events are strategically planned and crafted to utilize the Main Street 4 pillar approach to make downtown a thriving, vibrant place for everyone.

Now Recruiting: Summer Sundays at Legacy Square

Summer Sundays are bringing a full season of community programming to Legacy Square, and we need volunteers to help make it happen!

Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the series, including:

August 2 — R-All Multicultural Festival
August 9 — Rep for Renton Community Workout Challenge
August 16 — Children’s Business Fair
August 23 — Soul Line Dance Social
August 30 — End of Summer Community Workout Party
September 6 — Pasifika Market & Resource Fair
September 13 — Downtown Renton Pie Fest

Volunteer shifts and needs vary by event. Opportunities may include event setup and breakdown, welcoming guests, check-in, wayfinding, activity support, assisting event partners, supporting the RDP information booth, and other event-day needs.

  • Design programs focus on enhancing the appearance of our commercial district, from historic building restorations to landscaping, street furniture, and signage. Join us in crafting a beautiful, inviting space that residents and visitors love to explore.

    Programs:

    Keeping Up Appearances

    Purpose: To maintain and upkeep the physical appearance of downtown Renton.

    • Inventory Conditions

    • Design Assistance

    • Evaluate Existing Physical Assets

    • Facade Improvements

    • Work w/ City on Downtown Physical Appearance projects

    Event/Activity: Facade Grant Program; Qtrly Clean Up Events; Sourcing and allocating funding for any other DT cosmetics

    Keeping our History: DT Renton (overlaps with Promotions)

    Purpose: To preserve and teach the history of our Downtown community.

    Event/Activity: History Walk (plaque initiative)

  • Our Promotions programs focus on creating excitement and drawing foot traffic to our streets. These programs focus on bringing events downtown and creatively storytelling through marketing, events and collaboration.

    Programs include:

    Heritage in the Heart of Renton

    Purpose: To celebrate the different backgrounds, cultures, and interests in our Renton community. We produce events internally or support other organizations to bring their events downtown to celebrate.

    • Partner with local organizations to host events

    Gobble Wobble

    GEEKend in Renton

    Keeping our History: DT Renton (overlaps with Design)

    Purpose: To remember and teach the history of our downtown area and to tell the story of downtown Renton.

  • Our Economic Vitality programs aim to build a robust, sustainable downtown economy by supporting current and upcoming businesses.

    Purpose: support and uplift the existing businesses in the DT area.
