Rising in Greatness: Beyond Black History Month

In lieu of the usual Black History Month program in February, members of the Renton African American community are planning an event called, Rising in Greatness:  Beyond Black History Month, on March 26th, 2pm to 4pm at the Renton Chamber. Join them as they discuss the state of black culture in today’s society and how we can continue to keep it progressing in the future to come. There will be community outreach planning with local law enforcement, a riveting presentation of what it means to be black in Renton, and interviews with local black artists and creatives, giving you deep inside looks into the minds and motivations that drive their need to produce one of a kind works inspired by the culture they represent. This is a free event open to all. Food and drinks will be provided and engagement is encouraged.
