Main Street Entrepreneur Workshop & Pitch Competition

A business pitch competition to help entrepreneurs grow so our local downtown community can thrive.

Renton Downtown Partnership, in collaboration with the City of Renton, the Renton Chamber of Commerce, and the Port of Seattle, is offering entrepreneurs and existing businesses an opportunity to share their business ideas and win the resources they need to open a business in downtown Renton.

Participating in the Entrepreneur Workshop & Pitch Competition is FREE.

The competition consists of 5 workshops and a live pitch event. You can participate in any or all of the workshops.  While participation in the workshops is optional, you must present your pitch at the live event on April 18, 2023 to be eligible to win an award.

The three business stage categories that contestants will compete in are:

  • Startup/Idea: For the purposes of the competition, startup or idea stage businesses are defined as businesses that do not have any sales or revenue yet.
  • Early: For the purposes of the competition, early stage businesses are defined as any business that does have sales or revenue and with less than $75,000 of gross sales last year or less than two years in business.
  • Established: For the purposes of this competition, established businesses are defined as any business with more than $75,000 in gross sales last year or in business for more than two years. Established businesses must meet the Small Business Administration (SBA) definition of a small business enterprise, which is a business with less than 1,500 employees and no more than $38.5 million in annual revenue.
Businesses that can qualify as both early stage and established business can only compete in one category.
